Discworld’s Story Unauthorized (BenBella Books, 9781933771465), will be interviewed on the popular Dragon Page podcast, which is focused on Science Fiction/Fantasy and Mystery/Thrillers books and writing, and features Michael R. Mennenga, NYT bestselling author Michael A. Stackpole and Summer Brooks as the hosts, on Wednesday, November 5, 6 p.m. ET. The podcast can be heard on www.dragonpage.com. Simultaneous to the interview, contests for signed copies of The Turtle Moves! will run on both dragonpage.com and sliceofscifi.com. The last contest these Web sites held for a BenBella book had more than 5,000 entries.
The previously announced Q&A and contest that appeared on the Things Mean A Lot blogspot was linked to an October 26, 2008, e-newsletter for the North American Discworld Convention, a fan-run convention designed to celebrate Terry Pratchett’s long-running, bestselling, hilarious, insightful (etc.,etc. – we can keep going all day) series of satirical fantasy novels. The U.K. has been holding Discworld Conventions regularly since 1996, and more recently there have been Discworld Conventions in Australia and Germany, but this will be the first one held in North America. Scheduled for Phoenix, Arizona over Labor Day Weekend 2009 (Sept 4-7, and maybe September 3 as well), the convention is delighted to welcome Guest of Honor Terry Pratchett, as well as other guests with connections to Terry and/or Discworld.
