‘The Improv’ featured on The Tonight Show

The Improv: An Oral History of the Comedy Club that Revolutionized Stand-Up, released on September 19th, is about the legendary comedy club opened by Budd Friedman. From the microphone to the iconic brick wall, the Improv has been the launching pad for practically every major name in American comedy over the last five-plus decades.

Jimmy Fallon, host of The Tonight Show and interviewee in The Improv—among other notable alumni including Jay Leno (who also wrote the book’s foreword), Jerry Seinfeld, Larry David, Billy Crystal, Lily Tomlin, Judd Apatow, Al Franken, and many more—took a moment to feature the book on his show this past Tuesday. You can see him discuss The Improv in the video below.

Congratulations, Budd!
