Description

The fascinating account of a man in the Witness Protection Program, his experiences as a gay man operating a successful New York City gentleman’s club before becoming an unlikely FBI informant, and how it all went wrong.

Meet Michael Blutrich. A mild-mannered New York lawyer and founder of SCORES, the hottest strip club in New York City history. As a resourceful gay entrepreneur working in an industry catering to heterosexual men, Blutrich employed smart, unconventional methods to build his business’ brand. He treated the exotic dancers working in his nightclub more like business partners than employees, and maintained strict focus in an environment known for its powers of distraction. Under Blutrich’s tutelage and business savvy, SCORES blossomed into the hottest club in Manhattan, frequented by sports superstars, Oscar-winning actors, television icons, Grammy-winning singers, and political notables alike.

After SCORES benefited from the proceeds of a Florida insurance embezzlement scheme, all Blutrich wanted was to lay low, make the club a success, and leave his past mistakes behind him. But then the mafia decided to make SCORES a new home for its own illegal dealings. And just when success was booming to new heights, the FBI came knocking . . .

In his own self-deprecating voice, Blutrich tells all: From recording armed gangsters in the act of committing felonies and repeatedly evading discovery through amazing stealth to enduring a psychotic break from the imposed pressures and losing everything in the name of earning redemption.

About the Author

Michael  Blutrich

Michael Blutrich is a graduate from Georgetown University Law Center, a successful gay entrepreneur, and an unlikely FBI informant.

In a previous life, he was a founding partner of a prestigious Park Avenue law firm, a successful attorny, the owner of an HBO boxing promotion enterprise, an acclaimed radio talk show host, and the original owner of SCORES, New York’s most iconic and lucrative gentleman’s clubs. After distinguishing himself as an extraordinary undercover cooperator credited with almost forty convinctions of mafia defendants, Blutrich was unexpectedly sentenced, over government oppostion, to more than thirteen years of imprisonment in the Federal Witness Security Program. Today he lives and works under a new identity in a secret location.

Anderson Cooper recently interviewed him on a segment of 60 Minutes examining his undercover experiences.
